为促进青年规划师及高校学生开展相关领域学术交流，本次会议将设置青年规划师和学生为参与主体的青年论坛。青年论坛公开征集论坛报告，有意向的青年规划师或高校学生请将800-1000字（中文或英文）的报告内容简介及个人联系方式发送至本次会议官方邮箱：

The water network area has a profound history and culture, a superior ecological environment, and a developed society and economy. Under the background of the modern times, the urban and rural development in the water network area also faces the dual challenges of tradition and innovation.The common question we face is how to inherit and carry forward the excellent historical culture and urban and rural construction experience, meet these challenges through reform and breakthroughs, and showcase the unique charm of urban and rural area in the water network area.

The 4th International Conference on Urban and Rural Development and Planning in Water Network Area (2024) will be co-hosted by the Urban Planning Society of China and Suzhou University of Science and Technology, with the theme of “Charming Urban and Rural Area: Tradition and Innovation in Water Network Area”. Guided by Xi Jinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, this conference aims to explore the integration of traditional wisdom and scientific and technological innovation through the historical, cultural and practical issues of urban and rural development in the water network area, so that the urban and rural development with a long history in the area can showcase the modern charm with a fresh perspective.

We will focus on the charming water towns, engaging in deep discussions on the urban and rural culture and value, protection and renewal,ecology and security, as well as wisdom and innovation.The conference will provide an international academic exchange platform to study tradition and pursue innovation,promoting the organic integration of historical inheritance and modern innovation in the water network area.Our aim is to build a charming urban and rural area with great competitiveness, attractiveness,vitality and characteristic beauty,and realize the sustainable development in these areas.

This conference has been continuously included in the “Guide to National Important Academic Conferences (2024)” by the China Association for Science and Technology.  We warmly welcome experts and scholars from home and abroad, government representatives,industry professionals and teachers and students of universities to participate.We look forward to in-depth discussions and exchanges with colleagues from academia and industry, contributing our collective wisdom and strength to the development and planning of charming urban and rural area in the water network area. Ⅳ Call for Reports for the Youth Forums

In order to promote academic exchanges between young planners and university students in related fields,the conference will set up the Youth Forum primarily for young planners and students.The forum report is openly collected.Interested young planners and students should submit a brief introduction of the report and their personal contact information in 800-1000 words (Chinese or English). The above information should be sent to the official email address of the conference: waterforum@planning.org.cn <mailto:waterforum@planning.org.cn>. The deadline is 24:00 on 30 October, 2024.

The academic committee of the conference will evaluate the introduction of the report and determine the shortlisted list of conference report and poster. The reporter will receive free registration fees and other benefits.All selected candidates will receive certificates.
